Presentation 
La Casa del Sol is a Waldorf School in Gran Canaria, for children of
ages 3 to 12 (preschool and primary school).
Our methodology is based on the anthroposophical teachings of the humanist philosopher Rudolf Steiner.
In order to educate free human
beings, we believe in supporting the child’s natural developmental stages. We use the truth and beauty of the natural world to train the child,
advance to develop observation and reverence for life.
Teachers feel the enthusiasm for learning that lives in every child.
The subjects are worked in an imaginative and dynamic way which makes motivation for prizes or competitive exams unnecessary. The motivation of children comes from themselves and can gain the ability to enjoy learning throughout their lives.
Our education combines solid human values with a sense of wonder for the world around us that truly speaks to the child’s emerging personality, and equips him or her with the imagination, flexibility and inner strength to face a fast-changing world.
We are a committed, non-profit school community that welcomes children of all learning abilities, and teaches to their heads, hearts, and hands.
We aim to encourage openness of heart, mind, and spirit in a multi-cultural environment.
We look to sow the seeds of positive, ethical,
independent, and compassionate attitudes for life. This in turn requires enthusiastic, motivated and well-prepared teachers, and parents who are committed to the education of their children.
